Sara Hamill is responsible for overseeing EEA’s hospitality, multi-family, light/mid-size commercial, and senior living markets.
Sara came to work for EEA a year or so after college graduation. With over 14 years at EEA, she has primarily managed retail retrofit and new construction projects, while also working on the electrical power and lighting design, including NEC load calculations, energy calculations, and lighting controls. Sara has worked on commercial office projects with developers and architects and has also engineered historic building projects, mid-rise buildings, spas, tech data centers, office parks boasting 250k+ sq. ft., and apartment buildings and condominiums. She’s helped public schools, churches and chapels, and even military installations.
In 2020, with Sean Ross becoming Principal of the Retail team, Sara will be focusing her efforts on more of the mid-size commercial, hospitality and senior living markets. Her recent projects for these efforts have included Westminster Senior Living Community, 1111 West Sixth, 2010 East Sixth, as well as hotel brands like Residence Inns, Hampton, and HomeAway.
Sara received her Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004. Sara maintains an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas, but is also registered to practice in almost half of the country (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Washington). Additionally, she is certified as an Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP). Outside of work, Sara enjoys time with her husband and children as well as family dinners together.
