EEA Employee-Owner Recently Appointed to City of Kyle Planning and Zoning Commission

Paul Scheibmeir, senior project manager at EEA Consulting Engineers, was recently appointed a commissioner of the City of Kyle Planning and Zoning Commission in seat 1.

The commission’s purpose, as listed on their website, states: “Approves or disapproves plats of proposed subdivisions; reviews and makes recommendations on the zoning of land;  drafts rules and regulations governing platting and subdividing of land and recommends them to the city council for adoption;  drafts rules and regulations regarding zoning; helps to amend the comprehensive plan for the physical development of the city and recommends the comprehensive plan to the council for approval.”

There are seven total members of the commission who serve out two-year terms. The commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Kyle City Council Chambers.

“I have lived in Kyle for more than 11 years and had been looking for a way to serve my community in a manner that leverages my education and experience as a Professional Engineer,” Paul said.  “In addition, as consulting engineers, we often sit on the other side of the table, working to try and get planning departments and boards to approve projects or variances, often without a clear understanding of the pressures faced by planning departments and boards.  This opportunity allows me to serve my community while gaining an understanding of the pressures and decisions faced by city planning departments and boards.”
