Meet EEA’s Summer 2019 Interns

Meet EEA’s Summer 2019 Interns!

EEA appreciates the added support from our interns and we are exited to have them aboard. Learn more about them here:

Morgan Santoni-Colvin, Mechanical Engineering Student

Morgan is from Round Rock, Texas beginning his junior year at The University of Texas at Austin. He works with EEA’s retail team as a mechanical engineering intern, helping with calculations and design for HVAC and plumbing systems. Morgan hopes to end his internship with a better idea of energy-efficient mechanical design and how that interacts with building aesthetics and architecture.

People would be surprised if they knew: I have a twin brother! He’s also an engineering major at UT and people confuse us often.

Something on your bucket list? To eventually be able to cover the walls of a room with shelves of books that I’ve read.

Favorite thing(s) to do in Austin? I’m a big fan of going to concerts at Austin’s many venues, especially for indie music. Admittedly it’s not healthy for my ears, but it’s worth it.

Jimmy Du, Mechanical Engineering Student

Jimmy is an incoming junior from Denton, Texas and is studying to be a mechanical engineer with a minor in business at The University of Texas at Austin. He has taken on a mechanical design role assisting EEA engineers with HVAC load calculations and MEP design concerning ductwork and plumbing with AutoCAD. As part of the retail team, Jimmy has been given the opportunity to work on a number of projects around the country including several clothing stores and a community building for Community First, a local neighborhood for people that have recently come out of homelessness.

Something on your bucket list? To visit all seven continents.

What’s your motto or personal mantra? “Just Du it!”

People would be surprised if they knew: I grew up listening to classic rock.

Nick Felty, Mechanical Engineering Student

Nick is a mechanical engineering major from Houston, Texas starting his junior year at The University of Texas at Austin. He is currently participating in the Co-Op program at UT. His workload entails designing HVAC placement in buildings, plumbing, traveling on site visits to survey projects, and writing up equipment testing procedures. Throughout his internship, he expects to advance his knowledge of the business and design aspects of engineering consulting.

Favorite thing(s) to do in Austin? Peter Pan Mini Golf and Barton Springs.

Something on your bucket list? Hiking Yosemite.

What’s your motto or personal mantra? “Don’t stress about it.”

Daveon Douglas, Electrical Engineering Student

Daveon Douglas, from Pflugerville, Texas is currently attending Texas A&M University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. His main goals during his internship include refining his skills, obtaining reputable experience in the field, and gaining an understanding of which career path he will pursue in the future. As an electrical intern, Daveon focuses on learning the integral parts of various MEP systems, performing/understanding the calculations associated with these systems, and completing the production-drafting process required to create construction document sets.

What is your motto or personal mantra? “Ask for the rain, gotta deal with the mud too.”

People would be surprised if they knew: 3 months before the start of my internship, I had dreadlocks that reached to the middle of my back.

Something you can’t live without? I can’t live without the Word of God and Michael Jackson albums.

Becca Villarreal, Corporate Communications and Journalism Student

Becca, the summer marketing/business development intern from Bastrop, Texas, is going into her senior year at The University of Texas at Austin, double majoring in journalism and corporate communication. She assists the marketing department with developing web material, branding, social media, and design. By the end of her internship, she hopes to have familiarized herself with all the different hats a marketing coordinator must wear.

People would be surprised if they knew: I am a very superstitious person.

Something you can’t live without?  Sugar, sunshine, and the internet.

What’s your motto or personal mantra? “It be like that sometimes.”
