This project involved the replacement and design of a 220,000 CFM built-up air handling unit located in the basement of Alkek Library, along with four chilled water and heating water pumps located in the first floor mechanical room. Chilled water and heating water control valves were replaced allowing for the heating water system to be designed for a 2-way valve configuration and variable volume pumping. Large banks of outside air and return air dampers were also replaced. All work was completed over the winter break with no unexpected delays or coordination issues.
Commissioning of the completed work was completed by EEA.
EEA is the Prime Consultant for this Texas State University project. The project was completed under an MEP Design IDIQ Contract with the University.
