Why We Exist
Before he started EEA, Mike Hart spent time in various consulting engineering firms and was disappointed with what he experienced. He learned that the typical way of running a “successful” consulting business relied on “taking advantage of your employees, taking advantage of your customers, or both.” This strategy held no appeal for Mike, and he thought “there has to be a better way!” When Mike had the opportunity to start his own consulting practice, he set out to create an environment where he took care of his employees, empowered them to take care of the customers and share the value created by these positive relationships. This ethos still exists today, and can be felt in our customer relationships, fun office culture, and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) that provides a retirement savings benefit to our team.Employee Ownership
EEA became an Employee-Owned company in the spring of 2015. Founder Mike Hart made the decision to transition his ownership of the firm to the employees via an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Because of Mr. Hart’s generosity, our team is comprised of Employee Owners who are invested in our client’s success. Learn more about our Employee Ownership culture here.

Core Values
EEA vs The Competition
In 2018, we surveyed our customers to find out what characteristics of an MEP firm matter most, and how we measure up in those areas. We learned that the most important traits our clients look for are Engineering Expertise, Appropriate Design Solutions, Responsiveness, and Breadth of Experience. Our 40+ years of project experience, wide variety of building and project types, and commitment to respond to calls and emails within one business day set us apart from the competition in the areas that matter most. See how we stack up against the competition, and let us know how we can serve you!
