EEA provided commissioning services for the new Bouldin Creek Commons. The building – a seven-story mixed-use development that supports 147,000 square feet of Class-A office and ground floor commercial space as well as a 510-space parking garage – was awarded LEED Gold status using the LEED v4 Core & Shell rating system. It boasts ample enclosed office space, open work areas, a gym, electrical car charging stations, and a large landscaped green space with trails. EEA provided design, construction and warranty phase commissioning services.
EEA worked to ensure that the fundamental building elements and systems were installed and calibrated to operate according to design intent and the Owner’s operational needs, and to ensure the building will operate with both occupant comfort and sustainability in mind throughout the life of the building. The commissioning project was completed in September 2021.
Unique Features
The building was designed, constructed, and commissioned as a warm dark shell with the anticipation of future tenant improvements to occupy the space. As such, there were many considerations throughout the commissioning process to ensure that not only do the systems function according to the shell design, but also ensure future tenant build-outs are sufficiently setup to allow the same level of occupant comfort and sustainability as required in the base building.
