In our hyper-connected world, it’s tempting to rely solely on digital wires and algorithms to forge and reinforce our relationships. But the truth is, human connection transcends screens and thrives in the multifaceted tapestry of shared experiences. For this year’s holiday newsletter, we wanted to explore the vibrant palette of ways we connect, and how these deep-rooted bonds empower us to become better partners to our clients and each other.
Connection Through Words
First, there was Wordle which took the world by storm, and now comes the word association game, Connections. An equally frustrating and brain-teasing challenge. Your task is to figure out the hidden connection between the words presented. There’s no single “right” answer, but all four words should share a thematic link.
While yes, it’s a game of connecting words, it’s become a source of connection for our Employee Owners. For those of us playing daily, we chat about how easy, tough or downright absurd today’s puzzle was. It gives us a chance to connect and check in on each other.
For the holidays, we decided to try our hand at creating our own Connections game. Give it a try and let us know how you do!
Connection Through Food
Food is often central to celebrations and rituals, marking special occasions and strengthening bonds. After all, we need it to survive. From holiday feasts to client gatherings, sharing a meal becomes a powerful act of connection, fostering trust, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
Some of our Employee Owners have contributed dishes to our EEA Cookbook that either bring about fond memories with loved ones or create a sense of belonging.
Connection Through Community
It’s easier to enjoy the work you do when you enjoy the people you get to do it with, according to science. Okay, we don’t have the scientific data readily available but we are living proof!
For us, that means creating space for people to shake off the day with each other. A healthy culture fosters a sense of belonging and purpose, making work more than just a paycheck.
This year was filled with client parties, FIESTAs for ESOP stock celebration, giving back to our local communities, holiday gatherings, and team building activities. See what all we were up to here:
