701 Rio Grande project involved the construction of a new core and cold/dark shell five story office building with second through fifth floors being office space, 2,000sf of retail/restaurant shell space, and over four levels of below grade parking garage with nearly 300 spaces. EEA’s MEP design services consisted of establishing a new electrical service and MEP systems for the finished core/lobby with vertical transportation, shell restrooms, other core spaces, and cold/dark retail shell and cold/dark office shell spaces. It involved the design of lighting and plumbing for the parking garage with ventilation for the below grade portions as well as electrical and plumbing systems for a rooftop terrace event space. The building is equipped with a VRF AC system with an Outdoor Air delivery unit, and a legally required stand-by natural gas roof mounted generator.
