EEA performed Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) scopes of work for the new City of Austin Planning & Development office building and parking garage in Austin, TX. The office building is four stories in height and approximately 250,000 sq. ft. The parking garage has over 1,000 spaces. The office building includes a catering kitchen, stand-alone conference center, open office spaces, and enclosed offices and conference rooms. The office building mechanical systems include three 200-ton air-cooled chillers, four 150-ton custom chilled water roof-top units, one 50-ton custom chilled water air-handling unit serving the conference center, three chilled water pumps, and 180 VAV boxes as well as an 800kW emergency generator. A unique feature for this project was the design of on-site sanitary with the use of black and greywater. The project was executed as a design-build effort along with Ryan Companies and Gensler.
