Work Hard, Play Hard
Nutrabolt, a nutritional supplement company, is one of the fastest growing companies in Texas. When it came time to create their new corporate headquarters building they knew it needed to reflect their culture and their spirit of “work hard, play hard”. The result is a 26,000 square foot office building with an open office plan, lots of collaborative space, a café, and direct connection to many carefully designed outdoor spaces including a Zen garden. The adjacent 20,000 square foot fitness facility houses a basketball court, cross-fit arena, weight and cardio training equipment, and locker rooms with saunas and hot tubs.
The facility used abundant natural light and an energy efficient Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRF) system as strategies to help it achieve LEED Certification.
BIM
The use of BIM Design provided pre-construction coordination and prevention of costly issues during construction. The Plumbing contractor called EEA occasionally before starting installation because he saw a potential issue with structure. We were able to resolve the issues by finding a different, and in some cases more efficient, routing.
In some projects we find that from the time the design is finished until the building is occupied things will change in the field. BIM allows us to adapt quickly to most circumstances, improving the relationship between design engineer and contractor.
