As the Director of Information Technology, Betsy Jauregui is responsible for aligning business requirements with day-to-day operational IT support. Her areas of expertise include IT management, infrastructure services & operations, enterprise applications, information security, management, and strategic planning for process improvements.
Betsy joined EEA in 2002 and has a proven, 30+ year track record of delivering innovative, forward-thinking solutions to companies in the A/E/C industry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from UTSA in 1986, contributing to her exceptional ability to understand the industry’s unique needs. Betsy was one of the pioneers in CAD (computer-aided drafting), paving the way for her company to use computers at a time when commercial CAD systems had just begun to appear. Inspired by these innovations, she decided to study all aspects of technology, which led to her being hired to run the IT Department for a large architectural firm in San Antonio, Texas. She continued to develop, practice, and execute her IT strategies and methodologies there for the next 10 years until her family moved to Austin, Texas where she was hired as the Director of IT for EEA.
Today, Betsy says she has always felt “at home” in the AEC industry, recalling that CAD drafting was how she got here. As a senior-level IT professional, she believes in developing and implementing technology that is secure, scales well, and is easy to use. This strategy, Betsy believes, has allowed EEA to successfully navigate 2 company acquisitions and hire talent regardless of location by offering the ability to work remotely. Betsy is an effective communicator and is recognized as one of the champions of Employee Ownership at EEA. She helps lead the yearly ESOP Awareness Campaign to foster a culture of team unity and individual success.
In her spare time, Betsy has enjoyed coordinating events for the residents at Brookdale Senior Living and serving as a member of the Lakeway, Cedar Glen Neighborhood Association & Architectural Control Committee and a member of Women in Technology. She loves music, yoga, cooking, and cats. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Eddy and kids Austin, Phoenix, and Rio.
