The University of Texas at Austin – Doty Fine Arts Building Renovation

EEA has completed multiple renovation and expansion projects in UT Austin’s Doty Fine Arts Building as part of an existing IDIQ contract. Much of this work has been concentrated on revitalizing an existing (but underused) library space via The Foundry makerspace, lighting, classrooms, offices, and study spaces. Additionally, EEA provided MEP services for a new Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute, which included renovation of existing student lounge area with new lighting and lighting controls, additional convenience power, AV system infrastructure, new group study rooms, and new offices.


Completed projects include:
3rd Floor Foundry Makerspace Renovation: Included a recording studio on level 3 and added power for maker space equipment. Approximately 4,100 SF.
4th Floor Classroom Renovation: Included classrooms, offices, new lighting & controls, group study rooms; a restroom renovation; and a Specialty Center for Arts and Entertainment Technology classroom, which is a multimedia-intensive classroom with extensive AV systems including theatrical lighting. Approximately 10,050 SF.
5th Floor Renovation: Included minor lighting updates and added power for study areas. Approximately 3,500 SF.
1st Floor Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute: Phase 1 complete, Phase 2 currently in design. Approximately 3,700 SF.
